Kate claims this is her baby. I suspect this could be to get sympathy in court, or as suggested in the episode to use the baby to keep mom from testifying against her. All of this begs the question just why does she have Aaron? I would not jump to conclude the 'obvious' answer of Claire dying, given how things usually play out on this show.
Next, when Jack meets Kate in the parking garage, she is surprised he found her there, and Jack stumbles with an explanation (I think he said her lawyer told him she would be there). Recall, these 'little things' serve a purpose on 'Lost' and I doubt this was a 'throwaway line.'
Finally, Kate is 'not warming up' to Jack's advances, supposedly because he is not warming up to her having a baby (It's Sawyer's, it's Claire's and he is related to Aaron, etc.) I would not assume that is the reason, but I don't quite know what it is yet.
