Positive about that? We have no evidence of a time frame for any of the off island action, except for Naomi. Why was the first thing we saw of Daniel him on the verge of a nervous breakdown? Why would he have that reaction to seeing the plane wreckage if he hadn't been on the island? Putting that as a flashback doesn't make sense. He seems a bit more frail than Miles or the pilot, but nothing to suggest he's unstable.
