One other minor issue with selecting "bitstream" is that any menu-related audio (e.g. the little clicks or whooshes or whatever when selecting menu items) won't be heard. However, I found last nite upon watching 'The Prestige' that even though my PS3 was set to "bitstream", when I selected the PCM soundtrack from the audio menu on the BD suddenly the menu audio started playing. Your mileage may vary, however.
