BRANDED was a popular western in 1950 and is generally considered one of Alan Ladd's best.

HUD is brilliant in the same way that THE LAST PICTURE SHOW is brilliant. Where I live HUD is like biography. It's also one of the seminal films of the 1960s and one of the most important films made in Americam during that tumultuous decade.
