Re: AFI 100 Years Series Discussion & Challenges, vol. 2
We watched The Bank Dick and His Girl Friday over the past week. I'd never seen a W.C. Fields film before, so The Bank Dick was quite a surprise. Fields brand of slapstick comedy as he tries to prevent an audit of the bank he works for is uproarious. It was great to see Shemp as the bartender, too. Cary Grant stars in His Girl Friday as the newspaper man who can't let his ex-wife (and ex-coworker) leave the paper. This is a true classic, though I'm not sure how they came up with the title.
