I can't believe that ABC is keeping "October Road" in its current timeslot after "Notes from the Underbelly", which is one of the factors for the low ratings. The other is because the show was on a long hiatus from its May Season 1 finale (and they never re-aired the first season besides the SOAPnet marathon Thanksgiving weekend, although they did have the last four episodes that were broadcasted online, but the pilot and the second episode weren't put back up until close to the DVD release date). And not to mentioned the whole confusion over the "sneak preview episode" versus "season premiere" advertisements. The good news is they will be airing all 13 episodes that were ordered and scripted before the strike. The bad news is the ratings haven't improved enough to guarantee a third season. I would like to think with the writers' strike still going on, there's time to get those ratings up. This series already has a vocal fan base and I know they are already trying to get more viewers (vie the online episodes/DVD release/iTunes/e-mails to ABC which did help secure OR on the 2007 fall schedule). Gord Lacey's favorable review on TVShowsOnDVD.com will certainly help get the word out as well, in my opinion.
Tonight is the last new episode of the year, but returns January 7th.
Disney/Buena Vista/Miramax: Please put Beautiful Girls on Blu-ray with bonus features and the original theatrical trailer in 1080p, and an anamorphic re-release with bonus features and the original theatrical trailer day-and-date on DVD. Thanks!
A massive letter-writing campaign to ABC is being timed for October 9th. October Road co-creator/ Beautiful Girls screenwriter Scott Rosenberg has recently told fans on the ABC.com message board to "fight on." Please help in the fight to bring his Beautiful Girls spin-off, October Road, back to the airwaves.
