The Onkyo 605 does what you need and lists for $500. I recently set up a system for someone using this receiver and I was definitely impressed. You might also be able to get the 705 discounted for under $600.

The one minor drawback I found on the 605 was I sometimes thought the analog to hdmi conversion might be slightly suspect, as in the picture didn't always look optimal, but I think that is a minor quibble, as it probably won't be that long before you no longer have any analog video sources.

They flutter behind you, your possible pasts. Some bright-eyed and crazy, some frightened and lost.
