Ouch. As Adam says those wonderful lenses were both rentals, my $350 workhorse is the Tamron 28-75 F2.8 XR DI, the best bang for the buck lens on the market. This was my first vacation since the HTF trip to LA, and I had to scrimp and save for both trips and my camera. I'm just a simple engineer and occaissional teacher, volunteer fireman, blogger, amateur photographer and a lot of other hats none of which pay the bills but make me very happy with the life I lead.
I understand you were going for humor but a lot of your thread bordered on hurtful to a lot of the people, and I find what you wrote about Ron bordering on completely innapropriate.
Despite that, I know what it's like to be disappointed, and, if it will make you happy I'll gladly give you all ten disks I got that night. I'ts not the same as a free deck I'm sure, but my generosity has to have some limits. =)
If you want em, send me a PM I'll send em to you right away. I'm tied up watching a lot of the kick ass content Universal has put out lately and which HTF has been generous enought to funnel my way, so share the wealth I say.
