I forgot to mention that Herman Wedemeyer (Det. Duke Lukela) wasn't the only future Five-O team member to play other cops earlier in the series.

The year before Duke was promoted from HPD uniformed cop to Five-O detective, Douglas Mossman (who was never shown in the opening credits) played Det. Frank Kemana in a number of 7th Season episodes. Mossman, who is still acting in this century, also played cops on this show going back to the beginning in 1968 (he was the HPD police lieutenant at the beginning of Act 1 in "Twenty-Four Karat Kill"). He also has the distinction of being the only series regular to leave the show and come back in still more guest roles.
