Well i have updated the firmware to 2.0 on my A1.. After a very long time of pushing it off due to problems..

so far i have not watched a movie in it's entirety.. however i have been popping in the NIN beside you in time concert which is incredible and the added audio of TRU HD sound is great.. so far the update has disappointed me though with the common flaws that many have reported. skipping, drop-outs, etc.

My understanding of having to upgrade this firmware for the benefit of playing future HD DVD movies should attract the attention of TOSHIBA that the first gen. units some, not all are not performing 100% due to this upgrade.

I enjoy the TRU HD sound but i don't enjoy the skipping and drop outs..

so if i had to do it all over again.. I'd pass, even though i wouldn't be able to view some of the current HD movies available..

Now i have to deal like many. With hope of a solution to this current problem..
