Good point Jason.

Some of the earlier news reports had rumours of a StarFleet Academy or early adventures when Kirk first meets Spock type of story. Very little other details have come out. So this has led a lot of speculation it was an origins type of plot.

That would be interesting then. A brand new take on Star Trek possibly during the era when the first season of TOS occurs.
