I'm going to vote for "City Hospital" as TV's oldest medical show.
It started as an ABC serial on November 3, 1951. While still on ABC, it became a weekly CBS night time show, beginning March 25, 1952, and lasted until October 1, 1953.
It made the news on June 30, 1953, when a man burst into rehearsal that afternoon and stabbed a camera operator and broke a pitcher over the head of one of the actors. He evidently didn't care for the show.
