Wow, your system sure has changed over the last couple of weeks! :-)
Is your friends Rotel RSX-1056 still available? That would make a nice pre/pro for $700 (talk them down to $600!).
The Yamaha RX-V2500 is also a good choice, solid unit.
Am I to guess that HDMI is no longer a requirement for you? :-)
