Re: The "To be" and "The not to be" released in hd on dvd

And they'll wait on their heavy hitters until there is a bigger installed base of owners... that can be said for Blu-Ray or HD-DVD.

The thing that bugs me about studios using this reasoning is: wouldn't it be better to put out a big title very early to help attract more people to the new format and grow the installed base of owners more quickly?

Then 12-18 months later (or whatever) they can release a "special edition" of the title and sell it to the larger base of customers AND some of the people who bought the first release.

Why don't they do this? Is it something lame like they don't want people to complain about having to "double dip"? Anyone complaining about "double dipping" in a situation like this needs a kick in the ..... ! Early adopters WANT great titles to play on their expensive new decks, and should understand if a "first release" title they bought shows up all shiny and "new and improved" a year or so later.

Isn't this preferable to not having those big titles at all for a 1-2 plus years?

Grrrrr!

Mist and shadow, cloud and shade
all shall fade, all shall fade
