Agreed. But, we shouldn't look at bad cover art and decent extras as an "either/or" situation. They are completely unrelated, and are produced by different departments within the studios.

While budgetary limitations and source material availabilty may hinder a set's extras, there is NO REASON for poor cover design. Time and effort HAS to be spent by someone to design the cover. Is it too much to ask that just a little attention be paid to its creation? A good start would be to have the designers be required to actually be familiar with the shows. Or better yet -- let the fans take a crack at it -- like Fox is doing with their "24" Season Five cover poll.
