I love virtually every zombie film ever made on some level or another, there hasn't been one yet that I have disliked.

Of course Romero's film's are among my favorites, and i'm seeing Land of the Dead at 3:00 today, hopefully it will make the cut. I would have to say that my three all time favorites are Return of the Living Dead (it's sequel isn't bad either) Night of the Living Dead 1990 (huge supporter of that one) and Dawn of the Dead 2004, although I still love the originals of the last two.

I really liked the clausterphobic atmosphere generated in Resident Evil and enjoyed Resident Evil Apocolypse alright, the best part about that film were the zombies for me.

Of course, we can't have a zombie appreciation thread without a brief analysis on why they are so frightening, and this may only apply to me, you of course may read something totally different into the whole issue...

Zombies, that is to say the reanimated dead, is really the only other thing left, besides ghost stories, that really terrify me. I hate the whole concept of them, there is something so sick and perverse about the idea of a dead human being, who was good, kind and of strong moral fiber in life, getting up and eating the living.

It's a level of hell that is just unimaginable, i've had many a nightmare about zombies, they are fearful, dirty, vicious creatures that tap into that part of my brain that still remembers all too well of being afraid of the unknown shadows in my room at night. They're groans and moans insult humanity and so does they're very exsistence, God has truly abandoned us in these films and the Earth is now a stinking rot.

These films tell me that we've royally fucked this planet up with our industries, cities and greed to the point where we are being punished for it by this plague. I cannot imagine a more terrifying fate for mankind than what is presented in these films, these people should be dead, but they walk with their hunger for us...what a filthy, truly Satanic end for humanity.

"I've been staring at Blu-ray for 48 hrs straight, I can't look away.
Can someone help me, please?"
