Hello.

You should try this site:

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

it has a comprehensive list of DVD players and their compabilities. It has a very powerful search engine for finding what you need. I checked two boxes (DVD changer and DVD-R) and I got 125 hits. It looks like there are brands from:

Aiwa, Akai, Apek, GE, Harman Kardon (two models listed), JBL, JVC, Kenwood, KLH, Koss, LG, Magnavox, Minitek, Onkyo, Panasonic, Philips, Pioneer, RCA, Samsung, Sony, Technics, Toshiba, and Yamaha.

Read the comments associated with each player and you will get a better idea of how it handles burned media.

As for better quality in a single-disc unit, I would say you can find a player with much better audio/video quality in a single drive unit. All the best players in AV Secrets has the definitive DVD player comparo up on thier site at:

http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/cgi-bin/shootout.cgi

The Denon DVD-1600 is one of the top-ranked players at $500. If I were buying under $500, this is what I would choose.

Good luck and let us know which player you choose.
