Yesterday, I had enough time to get over to Borders to read the Home Theater Magazine review of the 52TX Elite receiver. The review mentioned that it features DPL IIx Game settings in addition to movies and music. So, I find that I feel pretty good about this option because my Yamaha HTR-5760 had this feature and it would be good that the 54TX would have it, too, since I recently purchased a PS2.

Last evening, I was at home and wanted to play a little San Andreas. However, I could not locate the "game" option under DPL IIx. I then hit the .PDF version of the manual up this morning, and sure enough, it appears Pioneer has left this part of DPL IIx out of their 54TX receiver.

Apparently, the Game option of DPL IIx should provide a bit of a "fuller" sound when playing such games. I guess I'll have to go without on this - as long as I own the 54TX.

I don't understand why Pioneer would only implement "some" of the capabilities of DPL IIx, but leave out others such as the "game" option.
