Hey guys! Picked mine up Friday at BB...they were on sale and I had a 12% off Coupon, got it for $417 and added a 4yr ext waranty. Have a question though!

I got my new VSX-1014 all connected Sunday, but have a problem with up-conversion or I don't understand it well enough.

I have two Component sources feeding into it (DVD player and the HD section of my Motorola 6200 STB. Have a 6412 PVR coming this week to replace the 6200) and they feed out through the Component Out into my 55" HD RPTV fine. Picture looks great.

But I was hoping to get the DTV (480i) feed from my Motorola 6200 to also up-convert to the Component Out so I can stop switching between the TV's AV modes depending on the source. I tried connecting it to several inputs both S-video (not sure if the box has S-Vid enabled) and Composite (I know it works) and nothing. I finally had to run a S-Vid line from the Monitor Out to the TV's AV-1 input so we could watch Non-HD channels. I also can't get it to share the digtal (Optical) audio that the HD side gets, had to run a line from the STB's Digital Coax line into the 1014 so the regular channels got sound.

Reading the manual I think it should upvert the signal no problem, but I sure couldn't get it too. So right now I have to switch both the TV and Receiver settings depending on if I'm watching HD/DVD or DTV.

Any ideas at what I'm doing wrong or am I assuming too much....

ps, I also could not get the On Screen Guide to work through the component. I had to run a S-Vid cable from Monitor out to the TV before I could see it.

Besides that it rocks! Love the sounds and features. The MCCAC was spot on too.
