On the mini's subject again i'd say. Like alot of newer takes on classics, it just does not work right.
. . . . 13 episodes ought to be enough before the coffin can be brought out to put the lid on this grave mistake, once and for all. And Galactica fans could look forward to another pure continuation incarnation, that does and will finally bring some sort of justice to Battlestar Galactica.

Somebody hasn't been paying attention. The original series was produced with 10-13-year-old boys in mind. This series, whatever one think of it, is made for a much older "demographic", as I already noted in post #320 above.
And do you know why it's produced for a much older "demographic"? Because they aren't, for the most part, catering to the preteen market in big-budget "sci-fi" action pictures any more. Period! (Try Spy Kids and the like, instead.)
What you're suggesting just ain't gonna happen (especially on tv)! Those days are gone, and probably aren't coming back!
And it's one thing to look on the original Battlestar Galactica fondly and nostalgically from childhood. It's a whole other thing to have so little perspective as to deem it a "classic". A "classic of juvenile kitsch" it was, indeed. Otherwise, not!
