Yes, test discs work with any display. I've not personally used the S&V disc, so can't comment on the material contained in it.
I recommend Avia or DVE, and Avia for ease of use, but I do use DVE occassionaly because of specific attributes that I use to check changes in my system. However, any of these discs will suffice.
