I love subtext and deep meaning, but the film has to work on the surface level for me to want to dig deeper. One of the few times I agree with george. It's fairly evident that the inclusion of some of these films is more indicative of what the viewer is bringing to the table rather than what the film probably has itself. Notice how most of the time reviewers and critics love to use the "the film demands" or "the film asks" when talking about these films. Quite honestly, it seems like we're doing most of the work here.
