Rachael, how far will you go?
Personally, I've made cd's of Originals (the unknown earlier recordings), and Answer songs, as well as a few covers.
Somewhere I've got a tape made from really old 45's from a stash someone loaned me, gems with a warm veneer of crackling and popping. I had an equalizer or something, and got the sound as lo-fi as I could with a "mute" control.
pS to gene - "Snoopy", probably by the Royal Guardsmen, and "Saturday morning confusion" probably by Bobby Russell
PS to Rachael - I didn't see Memphis Soul Stew in the brew, even if it was not a "cover" it would season the compilation dish
