Good thread topic. Of course we all know about Saving Private Ryan DTS, U-571, Terminator 3, etc. I'm also very interested in movies with great audio/video that are lesser known for these reasons.
A few I can think of off the top of my head are:
Immortal Beloved -- Great music of course, and the Napolean cannon scenes... good, loud, bass.
Rules of Engagement -- The first half of the movie. Very realistic helicoptor pans.
Brotherhood of the Wolf -- Every punch and kick is enhanced by the sub (if you watch the 1 disc version make sure you have on the French 5.1 track)
