is there a rule against talking about whether or not dvds and vhs tapes are copy protected?
We have to be carefull. We're using the "c-p" phrase quite liberally. We don't want to scare the higher-ups.

If you don't experience any copying problems, there's nothing to talk about then, is there?
No one said anything about it until your warning! Now, if he's using it to transfer movies to DVD-R, I really have to ask WHY especially for those movies that are already out on DVD. I just assumed that he was talking about home videos. Otherwise, to spend the time and money for hardware and media to preserve a crappy copy of a movie that's likely on DVD is ridiculous.

As George Carlin said, "Calm down. Have some dip."

Personally, I think it's kind of foolish to ban such discussion just because it could be used for naughty purposes, but that's one of the reasons why I'm not an admin.
