Unfortunately I'm limited in the types of treatment I can use since I'm renting. Anything that would cause permanent damage to the walls is out of the question. Adhesive or velcro strips that can be scraped/peeled off would probably be acceptable since they repaint when a tenant leaves. Since it's only me here, WAF isn't a factor. I'm more concerned about how it sounds than how it looks.

Excellent Jay. The Eighth Nerve products can be hung with velcro as well as tacks. I have mine hung with velcro. Not the ordinary velcro though, I use the super velcro with the thick nap and big teeth. The super velcro is just as good as glue for such an application.

I think one of the primary problems is that the door doesn't close tightly against the frame. Sound escapes quite readily, and I'm sure the door vibrates, creating its own noise.

You must be reaching some high SPL levels in your room to make the doors shake. If it is absolutely necessary for you to rattle the doors when watching movies, you can address this problem by sticking something in the door that takes up the slack and applying the acoustic blanket to help quiet the mid and high frequency information that may be escaping beneath your door. This will not remedy the low frequency information though. I notice that you have your sub on the side facing your neighbors. When they complain is it about the bass, the high frequency information or is it both? Have you stood outside your place to see just what it is that is noisy about your system?

Thsi type of information is valuable and can help you decide what route to take in regards to room acoustics and sound control.
