Welcome to this thread, Scott, and its nice to see your contributions. While there is no concrete definition of what films should be discussed in this thread, a better gauge would be if, a particular film in question, would normally grace an arthouse or specialty run theater.

Based on that, Confidence and House of 1000 Corpses would probably not qualify but A Mighty Wind would.
