Just today a very savvy, technically adept coworker asked me the question, "what is Blu Ray?" At that point I realized just how far HD (either format) has to go to reach the general public.

WHV has already released these "epic"-style widescreen DVDs in R2-land: Goliath and the Barbarians (1959) Sodom and Gomorrah (1962) Moonfleet (1955) Also, The Hanging Tree (1959), but full screen, so maybe it won't fit the bill....

Just got off the phone with a Disney "technician". The fix is to manually switch the red and blue component cables (if you are linked via component). I suppose there is no fix otherwise, and it is a real hassle to get behind my tv or...
