I had a set of Aerius i's and the Logos center running off the amp. I don't understand what you mean by "did they run hot with them". the amp never really over-heated, or at least in any way that I ever noticed, and the speakers...

I've used the Acurus with a set of Martin Logan speakers with great results. I'm pretty sure it'll handle anything you want to use.

in order for any DVD to be an official release they must include some form of DD. DD is the standard. DTS is an add-on. and SW has very rarely been heard in DTS in the theater (I think just a few theaters got it in the re-release?)

I've considered this but I don't think I want to rely on renting till HD DVD appears. there are just too many steps in the meantime: new displays, new hardware, new software, new pre-amps, etc... so I'll stick with what works in...
