The Jim Carrey remake has been a rumour for close to ten years now. I wouldn't be holding my breath for it to appear anytime soon.
TCM is promoting the World Premiere of the 60th anniversary restoration of SITR at next month's TCM Classic Film Festival; my guess is a Blu-Ray announcement is on the horizon.
The titles are also well within the 1:85-safe area - almost always strong proof of the correct ratio.

TCM announced today that Dick Van Dyke is going to introduce a program of Laurel and Hardy shorts at this year's Turner Classic Movies Film Festival April 12-15 in Hollywood. No info yet on the shorts they will be running.
