How is the quality of the DVD? I never picked this up because I really don't want to put money towards buying DVDs but I wouldn't mind revisiting it some day also (watched, I think, every episode when it aired).
Is that a BD-50 was used a concern? Does it increase their costs enough to impact its profitability for the studio and/or increase costs for the consumer unnecessarily (in this case)? Is there much of a cost difference for studios...

That would have been an idea (for some of the shows heavily altered on their DVD releases also). Never had that kind of foresight unfortunately.
