That's very weird. I know I'm not the only person to have encountered this problem, because I saw a similar thread on AVS Forum. I bought mine a while back and I'm outputting 1080i on the component connections.

My workaround was to toss it aside and use a real universal remote. My MX-500 works beautifully with it and other devices. I don't think I would be happy with any remote that comes with a device these days now that I've gotten used to...

Because of independent testing like this and this. Yamaha has always been optimistic regarding their power output while HK has always been honest.
