Treasure, for creating Gunstar Heroes, Guardian Heroes, Yu Yu Hakusho[fighting game], Alien Soldier, and more recently Ikaruga. Tons of great shooters. Also SNK is another favorite.

You can use S-video cables on the original model[ They use the same cables as N64 and Gamecube]. Much better picture.

If you can find Rez [PS2], pick it up. Einhander is a great PS1 shooter. Both are rare, so grab them if you can find them.
