At this point in time, I think that you would be wasting your money. I haven't seen very many posts that say that 1080p us better than 1080i or 720p, depending upon the source.

With Denon and their MultEQxT going from the top of the line 5805, to the 4806, 4306, 3806, right down to the 2807, Marantz has only the 9600 with a "decent" Auto...
The Marantz receivers do NOT have auto-EQ at this time, except for the pricey 9600. They have auto-calibration, but not of the EQ.
I was hoping that my new 8500 had it, but it doesn't.
Only the 9600 has a 9 band parametric EQ.
