I'd drop the 720p/1080i categories for Gamecube/PS-2 and 5.1 sound on Gamecube (and go with Pro-Logic 2).
Since neither the GC or PS-2 support those resolutions, no point in having in a Matrix

And maybe add "personal soundtrack" option for Xbox; folks have occasionally posted that one and it would be nice to know.
Jay's Movie Blog - A movie-viewing diary.
Transplanted Life: Sci-fi soap opera about a man placed in a new body, updated two or three times a week.
Trading Post Inn - Another gender-bending soap, with different collaborators writing different points of view.

5.1 and 480p are sort of a given for Xbox titles. Yes, there are a couple games that have slipped through the cracks, but they are crap anyway.
I would nix one of those columns (maybe 5.1) and just put in the Xbox title (all games 5.1 DD sound). Then you'll have room room for:
Xbox Live! or Online: Yes/No
No, online play has nothing to do with a home theater related DD5.1/16:9 thread, but it will be good info to have on there when there are dozens of online Xbox titles next year around this time.

Most mitsubishi hdtv's upconvert 720p to 1080i.
I own the ws55809 55in which does this... |
Totally inaccurate. Mits only has one rear projection set that accepts/unconverts a 720p signal, the WD-65000. It's a $10,000 DLP set. All HD set top boxes can accept and upconvert a 720p signal to 1080i and output it to your TV, but
most analog RPTVs cannot accept a 720p signal directly.
There are a few that can, including some Sony's, and some more on the horizon.
720p is usually availble on LCD, DLP and plasma sets and high end front projection units, but at a cost upwards of $8,000 and higher.

Since most RP HDTV's don't accept 720p signals, and the Xbox won't upconvert those signals to 1080i, we are better off just leaving the Xbox connected to an extra 480p input rather than deal with switching and taking up valuable 1080i inputs.
I have a switch all ready to go, but to this date, all of my Xbox playing has been at 480p, so I've left it connected to an extra 480p input that's not being used..rather than trying to share the input with my HD receiver.

They're
implying that, yes, but so far people in this situation are not reporting that the Xbox actually upconverts. So, while it might technically have the capability, it's currently not being used.

If I'm not mistaken, the option to upconvert is software driven. Unless someone comes up with a hardware hack to have the Xbox upconvert all signals to 1080i, etc.
Where's that Gary King guy when you need him?

The
Conexant chip is more than capable of upconverting any signal to 1080i, it just needs to be told to do so.
