I am trying to figure this out and I am not sure how to do it.   I habe not been able to find anything.     I need around a 6 foot cable.   Any ideas?    Thanks!

iPods only output analog stereo audio. If you're connecting to analog RCA jacks, then you need a mini-pin to RCA stereo cable.

How about connecting the Ipod from the Ipod 30 pin connection to Toslink instead of using the Ipods head phone output.   Is the 30 pin connection analog output too?   Thanks!

Yes, that is also analog out, although it is a line level signal and will generally give you better quality than the headphone out.

To access it, most people get an iPod dock of some kind. The standard Apple dock will do the job, but you may want something more portable like the Sendstation PocketDock:

If you really want something nifty, check out the Philips Universal Remote and Dock:
