I have been using the Phillips Pronto Remote TSU3000/01, and I have loved it for a long timew, but I think it is finally on its last leg the touch screen is not calibrating and it will not allow me to press the calibrate button to recalibrate it. So, I'm in the market for a new remote, but the new Phillips remotes are just too expensive for me, so now I looking into the new Harmony 900 & 1100 remotes. I know they were at Cedia, and I was just wondering if anyone had any information on these remotes and if they would suggest me to purchase them, and if there is anyone that has used the Pronto remotes and compared to the Harmony remotes. Thanks in advance!

Grady,
I didn't gather any information while out at Cedia that
would answer your question.
However, I have owned both Pronto and Harmony
remotes and for me, I prefer Harmony.
....however, that doesn't mean that's the better choice.
I just hate any remote that I have to sit and spend
time programming. Years ago, Pronto remotes required
that a person have a bit of programming knowledge in
order to program. I would spend hours in front of the
computer creating individual screens and buttons. It
was cumbersome. For some, however, it's a treat.
Harmony remotes, on the other hand, are simple to
program. Connect it to the computer, connect to
their database, and you get walked through easy-to-
understand programming steps complete with one
touch commands that will turn on and off a sequence
of components.
Pronto remotes are nicer (and more expensive) than
Harmony remotes -- but I will personally take the
simplicity of Harmony remotes over a Pronto anyday.
BTW, I am currently using the HARMONY ONE. A
real step up from the various Harmony remotes I owned
over the years.
