Onkyo TX-SR706 or Onkyo TX-SR607

Somewhat new to this and was interested on people's opinions on these 2 receivers. I have read good things about both receivers. I can get an Open Box 706 w/ full warranty, for only $60 more than the 607, otherwise this would be out of my price range.

I currently have a LG 42" LCD, Playstation 3, Energy Take 5 speakers and 10" sub.

I am more a videofile than an audiofile and was worried some over the video processing of the 607.

Also, ease of use is a big consideration as well. Thanks.

For the price difference, the 706 would be better because of the better version of Audyssey (MultEQ vs 2EQ).

Both will operate the same, so no advantage with ease of use.   The manuals are confusing (most AVR manuals are), but there are lots of owners here to help out.

At that relatively small price difference I too vote for the 706 unless you plan on using the 607's DPL IIz or the two extra HDMI inputs.  As mentioned, the 706 gives you a better version of Audyssey and slightly more power.

Reviews noted that the x06 series didn't pass blacker-than-black video signals (e.g. form DVD). Any word on the x07 line if this is changed?

(it was never clear if this was a practical problem, that owners would really notice.)
