Anyone have any experience with this receiver shutting down on its own? Just in the last few days when I turn the receiver on cold it shuts off in 45-60 seconds and after turning it on again the same thing after 6-12 times of this it finally stays on until the next day.

Any information would be great.

Double check speaker wires to make sure you don't have a short.

Did you make any changes recently (add new speakers, move the HK)?

no changes lately, that's whats weird it only does it for so long then it runs fine all day, Ill try some recommendations anyway and see.Another member in another forum told me to unplug everything and try again, if it shuts off then its the power supply he says.

This is a quote from the forums at Blu-ray.com and my response.
Unplug ALL interconnects & speaker wires and then try to power the AVR on.  If the AVR still goes into protect mode, the power supply is probably damaged. If the AVR does not shut off with every connection unplugged it means that an interconnect is bad or damaged.
Thanks for the advice, do you know this for fact? I just tried what you recommended and it shuts down right away now. Everything is unplugged turn it on and immediately turns off.

If this is the case its this any easy fix I can do myself? And is it pricey?

I have the same problem with an Harman Kardon AVR 120. It will shut off after 30 seconds but at the 3-5 time it stops shutting off and it works perfect.
It is NOT the protection (I did open it and measure the voltage of the "PROTECT" pin and it is alway the same, 4.5V like on the schematics. And because after several tries works, I don't think it is the connections inside or to the speakers - when it works, I can bang on it and nothing happens.

I really think it has to do with the programming (firmware) - I am waiting an answer from HK.
Does anybody know more about this?
