JR Ewing back on TV

October 9th, 2009 by admin

We can’t confirm any of the rumors at the moment but you may expect the Dallas Ewings back on your tv secreens in the near future.

Warner Brothers are in discussions to bring the show back to TV after 18 years.

Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy could reprise their roles alongside a new generation of younger actors. The pilot could potentially air on TNT in 2010 with the option for a full series.

Whoa!

This could be either really great or the "AfterMASH" of the 21st century. They could milk a few stories out of the constant flux in gas prices, the Middle East wars, the push for alternative energy. Plus, John Ross and Christopher should be old enough by now to take over the family business.

God forbid something happens to Larry Hagman. At 78, his wife has Alzheimer's, and he hasn't been the picture of health over the past decade and a half.

Yeah, I am hoping this comes together. If done right, it could be very good.

 How about Knots Landing?

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

If the revived Dallas gets off the ground, I wouldn't rule that out entirely. It may be the only thing that gets the original any more seasons on DVD.

But I wonder how much of this news has to do with the fact that the attempt at a movie version never got off the ground (mercifully).
