I know people can't stand to hear criticism of the studios aorund these parts but, Bugs Bunny's Cupid Capers.

After a whole year without any major Looney Tunes release, this is a sadisitic, ignominious cocktease. This SUCKS . ROYALLY.

The worst part is that its just a (horrible) 30-minute special from the 70's with no bonus cartoons of supplements of any kind.

It's to see that its come to this. I'm really beginning to hate Warner.

So the Peanuts release strategy has hit Looney Tunes. I should have guessed that this would happen.

I wanted to add that David Lambert and staff contacted Jerry Beck about this release and Jerry had this to say:

"He says that the bonus shorts are tentatively scheduled to be 1940's Holiday Highlights (Merrie Melodies) and 1955's Past Perfumance (Pepe LePew); neither has been released on DVD before. These are still subject to possible change."

Plus, "Beck also tells us that collectors should understand that this release (and a few others planned for later) are not aimed at them. These are aimed at general interest consumers, and take advantage of holiday gift giving opportunities. However, there are several sets aimed at collectors coming up in 2010. That's good news, and we can't wait to pass on details about those once Warner finalizes them...stay tuned!"

Great news there, and Jerry will be on Stu's show again November 11th.
