So I'm off to Shoprite tonight to stock up on $5 cases of Snapple which I now drink every now and then as a treat. My mom stops me and gives me a coupon to go get her a bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil for free. I accept and go to the store and fill my basket and as I'm checking out the cashier starts freaking out, telling me its a phony coupon. I reply that it can't be phony, my mother wouldnt make something like that up... I tell the guy its a manufacturers coupon and to scan it in, he refuses and calls his supervisor over and she confirms its fake.
D'oh.
Now my Mom's perfectly aware of the millions of scams on the net and yet she took one of her dopey friends at face value as knowing what they were talking about with it, and conveniently failed to mention to me where the coupon originated, apparently a dumb ass chain letter. Sigh.
