It's reasuring to know that there's a 82% "brand awarness" of Snoopy and the Peanuts gang among children 6-11 :)

Now if we could only get the LIVE ACTION "Hallmark Hall of Fame" Version from the early 1970's released! :)

Well that's nice, $20 for one special? I thought it was a decent value when each of these standalone releases had a bonus episode, but this is going a bit too far.

I'll get it because I'm a fan and want it, but it's very tempting just to wait for it to appear in the inevitable 1980s volume releases after they wrap up the 70s. Hope the bonus stuff is good to help make up for it being just 1 special.

Keep in mind that there are additional costs and clearance issues with due to the music rights.

It's probably worth the $20; it was, I believe, an hour special, or perhaps 90 minutes??? Haven't seen it since it aired way back when. I also wonder when they're going to get around to releasing the live action special of this. The Broadway version aired on tv at least twice in the early 70s. Now that I'd love to see again.

That flyer in the first post says 48 minutes, so you're right, it's an hour special. I suppose it softens the blow a bit and makes it comparable to the past releases.

It's one of the few I don't believe I've ever seen.

It's still a sucky equasion. 15 bucks for 44 min of show (we'll be generous and count the "bonus" episode) works out to be a WHOLE lot worse than overpriced monstrosities like Star Trek (before it started getting the price cuts) and Doctor Who. Seriously, someone needs to tell Warner and/or Paramount that a DVD can hold more than an hours worth of tv show.

I got the original Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas pack, and I'd love to have the rest - but there's no way I'm touching it at this price point.

Again ,understand the price-point is due to the clearances for the musical material and the rights to the stage production.

It might have not been logistically possible to put another special or an episode of THE CHARLIE BROWN AND SNOOPY SHOW as an extra as it would overlap with another release.

I'm expecting the follow-up musical SNOOPY will get a similar release to this.

Now,what's holding up PHV from releasing WIDESCREEN editions of RACE FOR YOUR LIFE  and BON VOYAGE?

Okay, that explains this release. What about the similarly (and equaly hideously overpriced) releases of the Great Pumpkin or the Christmas special?

Charlie Brown has never pitched a winning baseball game. To show their appreciation, Lucy, Linus, Sally, Snoopy, and the rest of the gang pay tribute to “good ol’ Chuck” in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown Deluxe Edition.

Everyone’s favorite “blockhead” finally gets the recognition he deservers via a series of endearing skits mixed with a collection of captivating songs from Clark Gesner’s hit Broadway show. The repertoire includes such unforgettable performances as “Happiness,” “The Kite,” “Suppertime,” “T-E-A-M,” “Book Report” and much more.   It’s the Peanuts gang at their very best!

“Viewers of all ages will be hooked on the uplifting and heart-touching songs featured on this wonderful DVD. They’ll want to hear them over and over,” said Amit Desai, WHV Vice President of Family, Animation & Partner Brands Marketing. It also imparts several valuable messages, including the importance of self-acceptance and building friendships.  This is a must-have DVD for anyone who loves Peanuts.”

DVD Special Features Include:

³ Animating a Charlie Brown Musical – This documentary featurette explores the twenty-year journey of the 1967 Clark Gesner album that became a Broadway hit and finally an animated TV special.
