Updating system - new av receiver, etc.

In updating an older system an looking for advice on a new av receiver to replace an old Yamaha RX-592.
Currently only have front l/r and center channel set up and won't likely install surrounds due to room configuration. They are Paradigm mini monitors and Paradigm center channel CC-150 i think.  No sub (yet)

I will be getting a Panasonic V10 (50 or 54) and want to know if I should pay for the upconversion feature of the pioneer 1019 or Denon 1910  as I will be using an old DVD player to play kids movies, etc. TV will come from SA HD8300 from Rogers (in Ontario)

I will require a receiver with 2 zone feature as there are in-ceiling (paradigm) speakers in the kitchen and speaker in the backyard.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
