Refoaming kits?

I tried to do a search on these and couldn't find anything recent, so I was wondering if there was anywhere you guys recommend to get one of these kits, I thought someone said ebay but not sure.  It will be for a Paradigm PDR-10 subwoofer, the cone is ripped on it.

There are about a dozen re-foamers on Ebay.  If the cone is ripped, then you need a recone.  There are a few but it may be cheaper to contact Paradigm for a replacement.

I just ordered a kit off ebay, they said to use contact cement.  I was just wondering if you guys could give me any more insight so I get it right the first time.  There are two rings in this kit so if I screw up once, it won't be so bad.

For foam surrounds, I use 2 part epoxy.  The first time I did this, I used 40 minute cure time epoxy.  I could probably get by with 20 minute now that I am more familiar with the process.  For rubber surrounds use superglue.  That's right, standard CA glue is all you need.

Clean all of the old foam and glue off of the frame as best you can.  When I re-built my TC-Sounds speaker, I used a hand grinder to get down to the bare metal.  For a re-foam I'd use a Dremel or similar tool

Did you get a new dust cap?  If so, then this requires you to remove your old dust cap and shim the voice coil to make sure things are centered.

Where can I find this two part epoxy, I just tried using standard super glue and was unsuccessful, it wouldn't adhease long enough for me to get the whole ring on.

I hope you didn't use super glue on a foam surround.  It eats that stuff up and turns it into mush.

2 part epoxy is available at any home improvement store like Lowes and Home Depot.  I've even seen it in the paint and glue section of Wal-Mart.

Yup, sure did like a bonehead, thank goodness the kit I bought came with two foam surrounds.  I went and got some two part epoxy, will try again here soon.

Well got the job done, can't give it a test run yet, little one is sleeping but tomorrow we'll see how it worked out.

Ok, so I gave it a little run and it sounds good at low volume.

I gave it a true test run today and it works great, I do hear a slight ping at higher volumes when low bass notes hit but I believe that it might not be centered exactly.  Nothing I can do about it now.
