Yes, I read about Wal-Mart and Target. Unfortunately we don't have Target in Canada, and when I checked at the Wal-Mart superstore near me, they hadn't received any blu-ray of Wizard of Oz, nor did they expect any. Most Canadian locations of big U.S chains are usually second rate at best. Things unique to Wal-Mart in the States don't usually show up in Canada. Best Buy and Future Shop both had the big box of "treasure" as you call it, but there is no way I was paying 70+ dollars for a cheap watch and some cardboard. I'll wait it out till my UK order for Oz ships.
Just watched Wuthering Heights last night, shame it probably will never see the light of day in North America on dvd. A sad legacy to a once great studio! Same with two I mentioned above. It seems odd that Northwest Passage could be released on VHS tape and laser disc, but not on dvd. Same with No Time For Sergeants. Just another example of what happens when the "bean counters" and lawyers take control.
