Homemade Projector Screens - SHOULD I DARE?

For a small home theatre and basic setup (probably a BOSE home theatre in a box audio system) would it be worth it for me to build my own projector screen as described in this particular article  Or will the quality be terrible?  I want to use a 1080p projector.

Greetings

Buy the real material and build your own frame ... cost is usually 1/3 cost of real screen ... but you get real screen performance.

Alternatively, get an inexpensive screen.  Elite makes some plain, white manual pull-down screens that are in the same size neighborhood for about the same price-point.

But making your own screen doesn't have to be hard.  I've made a couple acoustically transparent ones, and in all cases, I've been well under their price-point.  If you don't need it to be acoustically transparent, than life is easy for you.
