Grey's Anatomy - season 6
Grey's Anatomy - season 6

Grey's Anatomy returns for its 6th season, and changes are afoot. Tonight kicks off with a 2- hour season premiere at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC. Unless you were sleeping under a rock this summer, you know the fates of George and Izzy, but they deal with the aftermath.

I thought the premiere was very well done. Well acted. But I didn't see any real surprises, except the sequence with Callie quitting and the ending scene resolving the Chief's fate. How everyone reacted to George's death was as expected, except I didn't predict how Bailey would react.

So, they go through the forty days of grief over George to get to the new season.
The episode itself was kind of "blah", but it teetered into complete insanity and to me, the moment that broke all interest in the show.
Seattle Grace, feeling economic pressure, decides to "merge" hospitals with Seattle Mercy, a teaching hospital (university tied). Seattle Mercy has been raised in the past as an outlet for those who wanted to leave and teach, but when they played at at the end of "economic times are tough, we're going to merge hospitals" I about fell out of my chair.
I've always wondered who consults on these shows. Now I realize it maybe nobody.
This show pretty well jumped the shark last season, but this is as though fonzi drove back to the shark tank and decided to swim his way back across.

They've now had 3 episodes this year in which significant time passes in the episode. Here, we go through 40 days in a single episode. It was jumpy, difficult to understand and sold out characters. Argh.
