Up Grading my receiver.

This is what I have now  what could I do to up grade to a better sound at a reasonable price? Or should I keep what I have ?

Technics SA-EX 410 AV Control Receiver
Design: Dolby Pro Logic Surround
RMS Power Output: 20Hz-20kHz / 120W per Channel /8 Ohms
Dolby PL Power Output:
Front: 120Wx2 @ 8ohms
Center: 120W @ 8ohms
Surround: 120W @ 8ohms

I'd say it is time for a new one. 

I have a few questions first.  Define your idea of a reasonable price.  Also, what speakers are you using with it? Will this be for movies? Music?  Both?  How big is your room?

OK, to me is sounds like you are into music and not so much movies???? 

IMO, a new receiver will not make a huge difference for you since you are not using the 5.1 speaker setup anyway.  Stick around to see what everyone else has to say....

I am a real big movie fan I had bought these speakers a awhile ago and had sold them to my brother. He had called me a couple days ago and asked if I wanted them back.

Speakers make the biggest difference in sound. They are the "sound" of a system. Another receiver won't give you any difference in sound, unless you make a big jump, to a much more expensive one. Even then, the difference won't be huge, because the sound is still coming from the same speakers.

Go to a store and see if you can listen to two or three different receivers, hooked up to the same speakers. See how much different they sound.
Then listen to two or three different brands of speakers, hooked up to the same receiver. You should notice a much bigger difference then.

If you want more power and features, get a new receiver.
If you want different sound, get new speakers, and possibly a sub.

Hey Kyle - more info, man!!
You say you love movies so are you trying to put together something for movies? Budget? HDMI connection necessary? Are you using a blu-ray player? Any info you can provide would help with recommendations.
