Home Theater Speaker Recomendation

Hi All,

I am looking for a recomendation for Home Theater Speakers.

I have an Onkyo SR-806 Receiver with HD Satelite TV.

I was looking at going with Bose, but reading some things on here, I am scratching my head.

The room is prewired for anything I want to put in basically, but my intents were to do a wall mount type speaker system around the 8-9 ft height.  The room is about 18' x 18', and is wired at the 4 corners as well as front and rear centers.

I dont know what other info to volunteer, but I am open to all suggestions and recomendations.  I was trying to keep the speakers small in size so they were not real noticeable.  I am not looking for an in wall speaker, unless I get some recomendations in favor of this.

Please let me know your thoughts
Thanks
Pat

Hi Pat: That's a great looking room (and a LIVE room!) You may want to consider some area rugs, bookcases, drapes, etc. to tame some of the reflections as the sound will surely be bouncing around that room.

Not sure if the 4 corners are ideal for your front & surround speakers as it seems they will be too far apart. In any event, ideally your front speakers will be mounted at ear level (Left, center & right) and your surround speakers will be mounted a few feet above your ears.

I'm a huge fan of the Klipsch Quintet speakers. I had an early version several years ago & have recommended them to several friends recently. They come with wall mounts for easy installation. Also, they are very sensitive & therefore don't require alot of power to drive them. (But you have plenty with your Onkyo receiver) They come in either white or black & are pretty small in size. They are pretty easy to find, so you can probably give them a listen at a local store.

Good luck!
